The Alaska Marine Highway system brings travelers north from Washington State and Prince Rupert, British Columbia, and links coastal communities all along Alaska's southeast to southwest coastlines.

In our area, the AMH makes it possible for motorists to hop onto an Alaskan adventure anywhere on a scenic loop, taking one of the AMH comfortable car and visitor ferries from Valdez to Whittier on the Kenai Penninsula—or the opposite direction. This route through Prince William Sound offers views of the most spectacular sea life viewing coastline in Alaska. The fishing town of Cordova, east of Valdez on Prince William Sound, is also accessible via ferry and offers many accommodations and attractions for visitors.
